Import Student Account Information

Updated 11/15/05. Be sure to check it out.

Also, updated Housing information at http://www.tulane.edu/housing2.html.

  • isn't it nice that tulane felt the need to send out one poor student's bill to the entire student body.

  • I am afraid I don't know to what you are referring. Can you provide us with a link?

  • there is no link, really. I received the accounts receivable bill of another student in my email. Several of my friends received the same bill. None of us are that person.

  • Oh ok. Well I hope you reported it to the University so that they can correct the problem.

  • First..in response to the A/R Statement mentioned above: It sounds like nearly ALL students received the same A/R statement in that e-mail. It was for a student named "David" and he has a single in Monroe. So much for confidentiality. ;)

On another note, I'm really disappointed that nobody from Housing has returned e-mail messages (the only way we have to communicate with them) and all of my son's bedding and some other items were missing when we were at Reily for "personal belongings retrieval." I've asked for a reply re: if they've found the missing items and if not, what their policy is going to be for replacing/reimbursing us for it. That really has nothing to do with hurricane loss, since the room was secure and not damaged; it was the Tulane staff and Belfor employees or Dallas Moving Co who packed and lost my son's items. He NEEDS bedding before January's return!

Other than THAT, we've been o.k. with how things have been going. He got his classes for Spring and Lagniappe...with NO HELP from an advisor (nobody called as they said they were planning to do, but it's o.k. because we worked with him and some Tulane upperclassmen).

I sure hope that when we're back in session, the Administration will be as responsive and attentive to individuals as they appeared during Honors Weekend last spring. THAT was one of the selling points to our family. If THAT changes, along with the NOLA "experience," I don't know how comfortable we'll be for next fall. I'm patient and forgiving, especially understanding with compassion all that Tulane faculty and staff members have gone through. However, I need to know that my son's experience is going to attended to and that the huge expense for a Tulane experience/degree will be worthwhile in the long run.

With the way things are going (most recently), I've started to lose a little of the faith I've had these past 2+ months! Housing is non-responsive; advisors have not been accessible to many; mailroom hasn't responded about an insured package they received that the postal service won't help me with because Tulane received it...not feeling very supported right now. Sorry to whine a little, but I've been patiently and actively supporting all of Tulane's actions/proposals until now and I'm starting to get a little concerned!

  • You have reasonable concerns. First, if you will email me directly with your son's name I will contact ResLife and see what we can do to expedite things. I know that they are very frustrated because Belfor has not always been as helpful as they should be in tagging and locating things that were boxed from Monroe. It is reasonable to suppose it is all there somewhere but that is little comfort to you know. Again, send me an email directly and I will try and get an answer for you.

As for advising. It seems a number of people have missed the emails sent or phone calls from the college advisors. Some of this may be due to incorrect information on our end. Again, not an excuse, but another mitigating factors is that in a normal year at this time they would be advising freshmen only (mostly) but this year ALL students have been calling in needing help. This has, as you would expect, made it extremely difficult to get things done.

Once everyone is back on campus I promise you that I will do everything I can to help. I can't promise more than that. I can promise you that all of the administration are looking forward to our students' return and getting back to the job of helping them. Most faculty and staff are still not back on campus so this adds to everyone's frustration. There are lots of individual details to be worked out, as we are all realizing, and it will take time. But most of the staff and administrators will be back on campus by the middle of December (at the latest) and things should start to move along then.

Thank you once again for your patience and trust. We will work hard to ensure it is well placed.
